Hans Williams – “True Feeling”

Hans Williams – “True Feeling”

Some feelings travel in packs.

Treats to Maggie and Darcy for teaching Hans Williams a few things. He calls “True Feeling” their song and credits his two pets with living with a kind of grace the rest of us humans may have lost touch with. Anyone who’s loved an animal is already nodding. They really do seem to have figured out a few things we’ve made unnecessarily complicated.

That simplicity gets put up against something humans are considerably worse at: time. People come and go, friendships leave marks, absence hurts and sometimes we only get to love something for a little while. People aren't necessarily ours forever, but that doesn't make what we felt for them less real.

It feels right that something with this much heart and friendship in it came together the way it did, puzzled together with friends across zip codes, borrowed couches, a makeshift recording studio and even some pedal steel. It didn't just take two animals. It took a whole pack. Maggie and Darcy get the treats. I’ll buy everyone else a round of Peronis.
