CRATE Pulls of the Week
Every Friday we update CRATE with the records that hit a little harder than everything living on Condensed. Bass music, UK garage, breaks, electro, festival weapons, late-night discoveries... if it rattles the speakers, it probably ended up here. Here are this week's favorite additions.
Nikita, the Wicked – "Ceremony"
Nikita, the Wicked’s "Ceremony" tops this week's CRATE Pulls. "Dance music needed a villain." It's a bold statement, but "Ceremony" backs it up. Between the conductor aesthetic reminiscent of Fantasia's The Sorcerer's Apprentice and production that feels both meticulous and menacing, Nikita has created something that's unmistakably his own. The fact he spent years competing professionally in ballroom somehow makes the theatricality feel inevitable. A villain with a conductor's baton. We'd buy a ticket to that performance.
WINK & borne – "Drown"
"Drown," from WINK & borne, lands in this week's CRATE Pulls via UKF, the longtime standard-bearer for bass music. WINK has built a reputation for playful, left-field productions that subvert expectations instead of relying on brute force, while borne brings a more cinematic, melodic sensibility to the table. The result sits in that sweet spot where the sound design is aggressive enough for CRATE but still leaves room for atmosphere instead of going full demolition mode. Heavy doesn't have to be relentless. Sometimes the smartest records know exactly when to hold back.
Jkyl & Hyde & fkblnde – "Glitter"
Jkyl & Hyde and fkblnde's "Glitter" finally arrives after spending more than eight months becoming a fan favorite in Jkyl & Hyde's live sets. Don't let the title fool you. This isn't sparkle for sparkle's sake. It's gritty, distorted and unapologetically loud while still carrying just enough melody to keep you chasing the next drop. Not all glitter shines. Some of it cuts.
Cassius – "Feeling For You" (Fcukers & Junior Sanchez Remix)
Some songs deserve to be left alone. "Feeling For You" isn't one of them. Cassius handed the keys to house veteran Junior Sanchez, who immediately knew this was the record he wanted to reimagine. Bringing Fcukers into the fold only makes the bridge between generations feel more complete, preserving everything that made the original iconic while giving it fresh momentum for today's dance floors. The best remixes don't replace history. They remind you why it mattered in the first place.
SOFI TUKKER – "Barthelona"
SOFI TUKKER's "Barthelona" comes with its own forecast: partly cloudy with a 100% chance of making questionable decisions. Written in a Sprinter van between Las Vegas and Palm Springs before eventually landing in Barcelona for the music video, the duo's latest feels exactly like the city it's named after. Warm nights. Rooftop drinks. A text you'll probably regret. SOFI TUKKER turns destinations into dance floors. Spain has been calling for a while now, and "Barthelona" isn't making it any easier to ignore.
Detlef – "HighRoller"
Detlef's "HighRoller" plays exactly the hand you'd hope it would. Detlef's grooves don't chase trends. They outlast them. Built on an irresistible groove instead of unnecessary theatrics, it's the kind of house record that quietly takes over a dance floor before anyone realizes what's happening. The house always wins when the groove is this good.
