CRATE Pulls of the Week

Featuring Conducta, Manilla Killa, Flux Pavilion, MUST DIE!, Jaguar & Just A Gent

Every Friday we update CRATE with the records that hit a little harder than everything living on Condensed. Bass music, UK garage, breaks, electro, festival weapons, late-night discoveries... if it rattles the speakers, it probably ended up here. Here are this week's favorite additions.

Conducta – "JUST 2 BE"

When Conducta taps his baton, you already know what's coming. Not just another UK garage record, but a full-blown bass music symphony led by one of the genre's great modern architects. "JUST 2 BE" asks the question. The drop around the 30-second mark answers it along with a resounding, "Nothing I won't do." From there, Conducta takes complete control of the room, balancing melody, rhythm and low end with the confidence of someone who has spent years mastering his craft. By the time the final note lands, you'll already be asking for an encore.

Manila Killa – "SIDE 2 SIDE"

We've been longtime fans of Manila Killa. Back in the old Kick Kick Snare days, his music found its way into more than a few reviews, and his 2016 collaboration with Joni Fatora, "All That's Left," still earns a permanent spot on every party playlist I put together. "SIDE 2 SIDE" heads somewhere different, dialing up the energy for a track that feels built for a dark, sweaty dance floor already in motion. Even the cover art hints at momentum before you ever press play. By the time the beat locks in, standing side by side with strangers, moving side to side, suddenly feels like exactly where you're supposed to be.

Flux Pavilion, Liquid Stranger & AHEE – "Move Your Body"

The title is an order, by the way. It's not asking. Flux Pavilion, Liquid Stranger and AHEE each bring their own corner of bass music to the table with "Move Your Body," delivering the kind of drops that make standing still feel like a personal choice. One we wouldn't recommend making. Consider these your marching orders. Press play. Let the low end do the rest.

MUST DIE! – "IMPACT"

MUST DIE! isn't exactly subtle. Between the name, the album BLOODBATH & BEYOND, and a track called "IMPACT," you pretty much know what you've signed up for before pressing play. The producer has spent years building a reputation for aggressive, technically intricate bass music, and this one doesn't waste a second getting to the point. No, this won't be your first dance at your wedding. You're probably not dedicating it to your significant other either. But if your idea of therapy involves subwoofers rearranging your internal organs, you'll feel right at home. Some songs ask for your attention. "IMPACT" simply takes it.

Jaguar – "Club Feelz"

Jaguar has spent years championing dance music through BBC Radio 1, the Jaguar Foundation and behind the decks herself, so when she tells us it's time for "Club Feels," you lace up your dancing shoes. Equal parts confidence boost and nightlife fuel, this is the kind of track that makes confidence feel contagious. Some people wait for the VIP rope to come down. Jaguar hands you the wristbands, tells you to bring a friend, and suddenly we're all her plus one.

Just A Gent – "My Way"

As a gent myself, allow me to tip my hat to Just A Gent's latest. The Aussie producer said move over Frank Sinatra, we’re doing this my way and the result? It’s a generous helping of feel-good DnB with bright vocal snippets sprinkled on top like your favorite dessert. It's the kind of record that reminds you dance music doesn't always have to hit like a freight train. Every element feels carefully placed, but never overthought. Three and a half minutes disappear before you realize it, leaving enough heart to pull you in and enough momentum to keep you coming back.
