Jungle - "Someday, Somewhere"

The latest reminder that optimism sounds even better turned all the way up.

Jungle has quietly become that band for us. First it was “Carry On.” Then “The Wave.” Now comes “Someday, Somewhere.” They don’t miss. At this point, if Jungle releases something new, there’s a good chance we’re making room for it.

Jungle described “Someday, Somewhere” as “holding onto that feeling that something better is coming,” calling it “late-summer Jungle optimism” with “a little bit of longing, a little bit of escape, and hopefully something people can lose themselves in.” That’s exactly what it feels like. The lyrics acknowledge uncertainty, but the music never does. Warm grooves, effortless vocals and production that can make even an ordinary Tuesday afternoon feel like the first day of vacation.

I'm literally on vacation while writing this, and somehow this song made me feel more on vacation.

So here's my plan. This will be the soundtrack while building something new. It'll get me through Mercury in retrograde, the occasional slump, and all the everyday nonsense that has a funny way of showing up uninvited. And if anyone tries to steal a little of that optimism? We're not arguing. We're simply pressing play. Consider “Someday, Somewhere” the musical equivalent of pepper spray. Around here, positivity travels in stereo.
