JENNIE – “HEAVEN”
“Kinda fucked up, but it’s heaven to me.” Is the line.
This isn’t poor unsuspecting JENNIE trapped in a toxic relationship. She knows exactly what the situation is. She’s seen the Yelp reviews. She’s still making a reservation. There’s a high percentage she’s one of those girls Troye Sivan was singing about. Can we come?
Just kidding. I’m actually in my have-my-shit-together phase of life. It’s a longer recovery time these days. I looked up how old JENNIE is and she’s thirty. Thirty is the new twenty, so I say she should go raise hell. Please trash a hotel room for me. Somewhere fancy, but Sunset Tower is off limits. Enjoy being hot and filthy rich and all that fan love. You deserve it.
And what a lovely soundtrack for making terrible decisions. “HEAVEN” strolls in looking far more innocent than its intentions, all dreamy vocals and guitar wrapped around someone who openly admits the crash-and-burn part is her favorite. That’s the fun of it. The relationship is throwing dishes while the song keeps fluffing the pillows.
