Days are moving so fast, by the time I finish this sentence it’ll probably be next week! Thankfully, we have a three day weekend to work in some relaxation and hopefully slow down the clock. Sutton and I are determined to finish unpacking every box in the new apartment and making sure everything is put away. Can they do it? Perhaps, work in a little spa time? Who knows! Anyway, enjoy the remixes below that have been vibrating the walls of the KKS headquarters and have a great weekend!

Yes, please. Specimen A just dropped an exclusive free download of their eagerly awaited dubstep bitch slap titled, Cold As Ice. The track is a cover of Foreigner‘s 80′s classic transformed with a nasty bassline echoing vocal snippet that let’s you have it every time it comes around. Oy. We’re also hearing that their next single Chasing Shadows will also be dropping soon on Funkatech Records. Can. You. Handle. This. ? Thanks to our friend Melissa for sending it over. This track is on fire.

The Audio Bullys 2005 hit, Shot You Down, which samples the Nancy Sinatra version of the song Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down), has always been one of my dance floor favorites. When the beat hits at :48 how can you not? The track was also used in the 2005 Victoria’s Secret Runway Show, you can check out here.

If you haven’t already had the pleasure, please meet Northampton, MA-based string rock quintet Darlingside. Lush vocal harmonies, classical cello-violin duets and compelling break-beats characterize their sound. Recently having wrapped up their first tour, which comprised of 35 shows across New England and the mid-Atlantic, the band is now looking forward to a busy fall promoting their freshly released debut EP.
Malea, is off the debut, self-produced studio effort, EP 1, available here. It was the first song we heard and not only did we let it play in its entirety, but we played it twice more. It’s all things mentioned above, and below. Lyrically relatable, expressed transparently genuine and careful, all while not holding anything back.
“I would have given everything I had…”

“52 Ghosts is a project set to the rhythm of the rule: that a new song should appear every Thursday. So far, one has. Every 4th week, the songs from that month are made available as a free downloadable EP, so you can play them to a friend. There are no plans for this to stop. Twenty-seven was released on Thursday, and you can hear it here.”
I’ve been listening to each compilation and it’s almost impossible to pick a favorite to post. We finally decided on Twenty-two which we found out was part of a series of retro tunes. The original track was recorded almost a decade ago, then reworked into the current project. Brit rap over a choppy beat both keeping things on edge and you around its finger. Then the next track will be an instrumental worthy for the big screen to your favorite movie whatever the genre. He’s covered them all. My suggestion is to start from the beginning here. Catch up and join in each Thursday for a new track!

Our friend David Heyerman of Welcome Hohme introduced us to Amanda Jenssen. She was a finalist in Sweden’s version of American Idol in 2007. Since then, she’s released two albums David calls solid. He’s been playing the track below Do You Love Me? within many of his DJ sets since finding it in his travels to Nepal a couple years ago, receiving lot of “who’s that?” each times it plays.
David’s newest mix, Higher, will be his sixth electro/house/trance/dubstep project available to the general public after labor day weekend. You can preview the first eleven minutes, here. Impeccable taste this young musical entrepreneur, with a fantastically written bio (click here) that’s worth the read and introduction into the world of Hohme.
