FINLAY: TIDES

FINLAY: TIDES

Unlike most 'tides,' FINLAY's latest single is only rising -- never falling (except head over heels in love for) -- and it's all we need on this breezy Sunday morning in Los Angeles as we relish in some downtime before drifting into the week ahead.  "TIDES" is a powerful surge of euphoria and brings something wildly refreshing to the Pop realm; it's like sticking your toes in the sand and letting the ocean water wash over them.

TIDES began in my small apartment studio (I like to call it “Washer/Dryer Studios”…because that’s literally where the washer & dryer is supposed to go.) My lead producer, Chris, created the backline beat, and shortly after falling in love with the hook, I locked myself in my closet behind all my clothes and didn’t come out until I finished the lyrics. I’ve dreamt of island waters and vibrant coastlines my whole life, and TIDES serves as a fresh and anthemic summer pop beat, giving the overall message that the most important relationships in life are the ones worth fighting for.
