Desi Valentine: Asylum
You know the opening scene in Saturday Night Fever? The one where John Travolta's character saunters down the streets of New York City with 'Stayin' Alive' going ham in the background? Yeah. Take that scene, sub in Desi Valentine's tune Asylum, and send me off to NYC with bellbottoms and a slice of pizza. I'm ready to relive that shoot.
But seriously, Desi's tune harkens back to the roots of disco and soul without becoming overly reliant on synthesizers, production tricks, or novelty. Rich vocals, a real life groove, and Desi's funky guitar -- it's the kind of production prowess that's sorely lacking in modern music. And we're way into it.
