Happy Saturday everyone. FINALLY Chicago has moved into the warm season (all 3.5 months of it). To celebrate this wonderful weather wonderland, I am throwing 4 posts at you, backtobackt0backt0back. It’s going to be hot, sweaty, angry, cheerful and savory, all in one tornado of tunes. So we’re going to start with the Dissociates, a post-punk quartet out of London. If you dig on some strong, fast, upbeat, passionate punk/rock, if you dig a good mosh pit, I recommend you jump in to these guys. The Dissociates have an album “Drown This Town” currently on bandcamp, it received great reviews over at Punk News and Subba Cultcha, and it kicks ass. Personally the music reminds me of oldschool Offspring, and that mid-90′s, driven, just simply well-written, well-played rock. At the same time, I hear certain audible elements that remind me of FOALS and Alt-J. Either way, I want more, and I’m keeping an eye out from them to roll to the states. Ping to Deadly Journalist.
