Dragonette have given us an unexpected surprise today! Today they unveil their shiny new track ‘The Right Woman’ as part of Diane von Furstenberg‘s Proud to be Woman Vol. 3, a compilation put together in honor of International Women’s Day. This is the first original new track for the band since the summer of 2010. Though the last two years has seen the band work very hard on very special and even more successful collaborations. These led to the club hit ‘Fire In Your New Shoes’ with American producer/DJ Kaskade, and of course the global pop mega-hit ‘Hello’ with Martin Solveig, that went Top 10 in more than 30 countries. It was this hit that helped launch Martin to the lofty spot of helping to produce new tracks for none-other than Madonna.
‘The Right Woman’ was made in collaboration with producer Felix Blowxsom, who has worked with Sia and Empire of the Sun. Together they have created and deep nu-disco track overloaded with sex appeal, glittering synths, sultry vocals and strut inducing beats. Dragonette are currently hard at work on their third album, which is nearly done! They are also hard at work on their first new video for ‘Let It Go‘, which will be unleashed by the end of the month.
