[VIDEO] Russ Chimes: Turn Me Out

Screen Shot 2013-03-08 at 12.00.07 PM

Russ Chimes dropped ‘Turn Me Out’ back in March. It’s perfect blend of 90′s diva vocals, tribal percussion, deep house baseline, funky flourishes and bright glittering synths instantly had me fixated on the song. Now Russ has teamed up with London based directing duo, Mathy & Fran, to take our obsession to an entirely and all together rather unhealthy level. The video juxtaposes the unstoppable disco-house track with perfectly coiffed and seemingly repressed hipst-preps, who we watch come undone and unbound by the infectious sounds. Completely turnt out right before our eyes. Tweet You may also enjoy…: Alphabeat: Love SeaCrash & The Coots: "Don’t Kill Bugs"Goldroom: Only You Can Show Me (feat. Mereki)

[VIDEO] The 1975: The City

The 1975 The City

The 1975 have an uncanny ability to blend the distinct sound of U.K. alt-rock with hopelessly catchy electro-pop with stunning results. Their newest single, ‘The City’, finds the Mancunian quartet consisting of Matthew Healy (vocals/guitar), Adam Hann (guitar), George Daniel (drums), and Ross MacDonald (bass) striking a more delicate and emotive chord than their last hit single ‘Chocolate’, exposing us to the softer side of one of alt-pop’s brightest new stars. If you weren’t already hooked on The 1975, ‘The City’ will take away any last shred of resistance, leaving you very happily lost in their sound. ‘The City’ is the first single off their next EP, IV, due on May 20th.
