Approximately 6 minutes ago I threw on a 561 song party-playlist titled “letsgo up” (shout out to smart playlists) and this banger kicked me in the dome. As I feel it is my duty to get you pumped and ready for the evening, I felt obligated to share this one with all of you. AZARI & III announce the release of new single ‘Reckless (With Your Love)’ out on 12th February 2012 & self-titled album on 19th February 2012. DJ Johnny Mac gives Tyga‘s reggae track “Rack City” some extra bounce. Starrset deliver all things Halloween, technology, space, and quantum mechanics (with an extra added in dash of Kreayshawn). Add a little drum and based Rihanna remix along with HOHME‘s take on Calvin Harris‘s smash hit, Flashback, and you’ve got yourself a proper remix bundle.

Nabiha: Never Played the Bass

Nabiha! Where to start. I’ll start aesthetically I suppose. As a half-Asian gal my hair does one thing.. stays straight. Thus, I’m immediately so envious of Nabiha’s glorious hair! It’s total perfection. Everything about her just makes me happy. This track is super catchy, the video is adorable, she’s got great style, an amazing voice, and she’s already huge in Denmark! I have a feeling these Danish-African soul/pop tunes are going to sweep the nation faster than Tamagotchis. She’ll be playing NY and LA later this month. Get your tickets!

Nina Sky: Day Dreaming

Twins blow my mind. I understand the science behind it (pretty much) but still, matching humans or two humans just hanging out growing into babies together in a belly is extreme! I totally believe in twin myths too. Reading each others minds, knowing when the other feels intense emotions, accidentally wearing the same outfit.. I buy all of it! Here we have two twins Nicole & Natalie as Nina Sky on the track “Day Dreaming.” I wish I could tell their voices apart. But instead it’s twin power and great harmonies made possible only by being kin. It’s a fun track with little flashes of Rihanna mixed with a few samples I think Aaliyah would approve of. I don’t really know what this song is about, but worth a listen regardless!

Dragonette: Let It Go Tease #1 & Run, Run, Run Tease #2

Well I am not sure how I missed tease #1 for Let It Go, but thank god I discovered it and a very sneaky tease #2 for Run, Run, Run. My favorite band is back! After a busy, busy year working with some of the very best DJ’s the world has to offer (Diplo, Martin Solveig, Kaskade) the trio is prepping for a new album, tour and a fantastic time at SXSW & Coachella. I am so excited I can barely type this post. (sorry for any uncorrected typos)
