Brent Burns is the founder and creator of KickKickSnare, a music blog based in LA with writers in Brighton, Washington, and Chicago. Brent specializes in hard-to-find, cutting-edge songs and artists that haven’t yet made it into the typical top-40, popular, dance, alternative or similar radio station play. He has a particular love for dance and electronic music, which he now covers for Grammy.
During his childhood in the hills of San Diego at the foot of his grandfather’s guitar, Brent developed a love for all things music that blossomed into a successful career as a popular DJ and music and video consultant for various companies. Brent has built KickKickSnare into an influential voice in the music world, a place where readers of all stripes–from A&R execs to the average Jane Doe–can come to discover the joy of falling in love with a truly great artist and a great song.

Music is who I am, more than anything else in my life. It’s the reason for dancing wildly to my mom’s Beach Boys LPs and Madonna cassettes. It’s the love affair that blossomed over 9 years of choir (long before Glee made it the “cool” thing). It is the tried and true relationship that made me the go-to guy for new, fun music and the DJ of choice for frat parties in university. It weathered the trials of the real world and being an “adult”, and is the force that has led me to Kick Kick Snare and DJing. It’s here, as part of Kick Kick Snare, I aim to be that ‘go-to’ guy for new and talented musicians hoping to find a place share their love affair with the music they create.

Your Kick Kick Snare midwest representative is yours truly, Kenton James Weber. You can call me Tuns of Fun, DJ
Saltine, K-Web, Webster, Special K, or Kent. I’m here to bring you then best in Hip-hop, Electronic Pop, Lo-fi Rock and/or all music that will have you screaming SWEET SASSY MO-LASSY THAT IS DOPE. I was raised in the commercialized tundra of Mason, Ohio (Cincinnati), a graduate of Ohio University, and now call home Logan Square, IL (Chicago).
I love music, and I’ve got a crater-size chip on my shoulder due to the current state of the audible arts. Why? Because I see thousands/millions of talented artists going unnoticed and losing hope. All while the largest grossing artists on earth include…Nickleback. I’m here to change things, so that the balance of economic sustainability and artistic talent no longer resembles Rick Ross and a starving child on a teeter
totter. Substance, talent, ART > ROI. Hope you enjoy the content I share with you…I love you… Keep on keepin’ on.

With a life long passion for music and a taste that covers a broad range of styles, Kick Kick Snare’s man in the UK, Ed, has always had a keen ear for discovering new music and a love of making sure that it’s heard in all the right places. With several vinyl releases under his belt as one half of production duo Allied, Ed is also a full time Guinness enthusiast and lover of acoustic guitars, Cubase and regular cups of tea, with milk and two sugars please!

Eavan Porter (or Eavie if you read that and think she’s a dude named Evan) is the first lady addition to Kick Kick Snare! When she manages to tear herself away from photos of adorable animals or youtube videos of dance sequences, her ears are busy listening to everything from Disney pop stars to her friend’s neighbor’s boyfriend’s garage band.
After meeting KKS founder Brent Burns for music chatter over wine and a cheese plate it was quickly decided that she should join the team. Well to be fair, it was probably a few glasses in after trading sarcastic quips and going head to head in a game of “have you heard this band?”
With a background in PR, A&R, Artist Management, Licensing, and Event Marketing, Eavie has learned she can successfully keep a day job as long as it has the perfect soundtrack. But if heaven were a place on Earth she’d be doing the twist to Motown favorites in a room filled with puppies.
