Is it something in the water, or maybe the air in Wales that leads to an overabundance of incredible singers? I am not sure, but I feel like they all should be tested for doping. Their concentration of vocal talent is just a little unnatural.

Jay James Picton is no exception to this Welsh phenomenon. His unique soul voice was unknown, even to him just 5 short years ago. Since then he has discovered his sound and gather an impressive loyal following from music powerhouses like Roger Daltrey & John Legend and just wrapped up touring with Jessie J and Rebecca Ferguson.

‘Long May They Roll’ is the second single taken from Jay’s upcoming debut LP, Play It By Heart. Recorded between Brooklyn and LA, with some of the best musicians in the hip hop & soul scenes. Play It By Heart is set for release on Monday the 27th of August. ‘Long May They Roll’, drops September 7th, along with three remixes.

By far the most exciting is the version created by the original track’s co-producer Malay. Well known for his work with Frank Ocean, John Legend, G-Unit and Andre 3000 to name a few. His new version is a dark and soulful re-imagining of the original subdued and brooding track. Matching Jay James’ powerful voice with pounding kick drums, soaring gospel backing vocals and eerily haunting organ cords.

The single and remixes will be available this Monday, and we have been told that a music video should be here by weeks’ end!
