Although I had planned on trying to keep this whole “aMurican Patriotism” theme going, I found this track and took a turn south… east… very. Hailing from Australia, Jinja Safari bring us “Toothless Grin”, a genuinely, simply, happy piece of music. It’s beautiful, upbeat, dynamic, catchy and reminds me of the artwork I see when I look up.  “Toothless Grin” certainly shares similar elements of The Crystal Fighters and Jonquil, but it’s also interesting that I hear a track like “Peter Pan” and hear shades of Mumford & Sons and Vampire Weekend (do you?)

Jinja Safari are currently touring AUS, but hopefully will make there way over to bald eagle country very soon. Ping to those USA-tax-paying, silent majority-musicologists over at Middleclasswhitenoise.
