Maybe the Mayans had bad vibes for 2012, but it’s been nothing but good news for fun.! The band comprised of Nate Ruess (The Format), Jack Antonoff (Steel Train), and Andrew Dost (Anathallo) is quite the indie super-group with followings from their previous endeavors, but things really started to take off in the mainstream when the Glee cast covered “when we were young” off their forthcoming album. Then Chevy used the track for their stunt-heavy SuperBowl commercial. Double whammy!
fun.’s sophomore record is set to be released next Tuesday via Fueled by Ramen. Their debut “Aim and Ignite” which was released back in 2009 through Nettwerk Records was so darn wonderful. The songs are catchy and interesting and complex and simple when they need to be. Some Nights looks to be a very successful follow-up. I like it when good music and good people win.
