I gotta say, this past weekend has rocked my head pretty good, plus I may have adapted an intolerance to lactose or gluten (stomach has been killin me since Wednesday). Thankfully I got the hook up via DeadJournalist in the form of this track by Lushlife. A perfect example of the new synth-infused, cognitvely clever, flow-strong, electronic indie hip-hop; Producer/Lyricist Lushlife weaves a nasty rap thread with “She’s a Buddhist, I’m a Cubist” (not to mention a dope title). These two tracks are certainly not club bangers, but perfect examples of stimulating, passionate hip-hop. Side note: Lushlife’s new mixtape includes a cameo from Das Racist’s Heems (Relax). As I said, my possible sickness + a independent brewer event have taken a toll on me physically, but these tracks definitely have me on the up swing.
