So it’s another chilly Sunday in Chicago and I’m in the mood to do something that 90% of bloggers would probably call me lazy for, then give me a swift kick to the coin purse: post something that was released more than 2 months ago. But you know what? When I found “Family” by Satellite Stories earlier in the week, I seriously played it 7 or 8 times in 30 minutes (hooked). I ventured a listen because the first frame of the video, I actually thought was a life size manikin (it wasn’t… but I still think it doesn’t look real.) Satellite Stories are “four daring satellite heroes from the planet of summery breeze (Oulu, Finland).” Think Bloc Party-pop, very similar to a Two Door Cinema Club with a bit more “my crush from 4th grade just kissed me and now life can start”. Their new single is “Blame The Fireworks” about… well… duh. Conclusion: dig these Finnish dance-pop-indie tunes and stay warm out there.
