Graffiti6 is the amazingly talented duo of UK producer TommyD and singer/songwriter Jamie Scott. Drawing influence from from Simon & Garfunkel, James Taylor and other iconic singer/songwriters, the music they create is thoughtful, beautiful and just plain good. Their debut album often took me on a ride that balanced between the soul of 1960′s Motown, the psychedelic 70′s, and chill-funk that is completely new and fresh – surprisingly uncluttered by synths or electro noise. They don’t try too hard to make music that is perfectly easy.
The duo is making their first US tour stops and will be in DC this Friday at DC9, as part of the world famous Liberation Dance Party, after a stop at the Jersey Shore in Asbury Park, and all before heading up to Southhampton’s Escape to New York.
Get better acquainted and take a listen to my personal favorite track.
