Britney Spears: Hold It Against Me (Music Video) + Remix

I couldn’t resist. I’ll keep it short and to the point. First half is shit. Almost felt stared down by product placement (Hey, Elle – you see the MakeUp Forever shot? Can she just stop?) by Spears herself who seemed to be just going through the motions on Diazepam. That aside, I’d have to say the second half is the shit. “Give me something good/I don’t want to wait/ I right it now” actually happens right about the 2:38 mark, the ever-growing white dress finally works through the (clearly labeled “Sony”) screens which also flash clips from her “Hit Me Baby One More Time” video. It’s clever, as is the liquid rainbow shooting from her hands, the choreography, the choppy editing, the fight scene effects etc… The director essentially just way overshot. The poor editor. Probably still has a headache trying to fit everything in – and you know this song will be embedded into their brain for life. And lastly, to complete this Britney package, cop the Schim remix below! A variation well-done.
