tUne-yArDs is Merrill Garbus. We’ve got a remix and an original alongside her introduction. Her first full-length as tUnE-yArDs, Bird Brains, was released in August 2009 on British independent record label 4AD. The album was entirely self-produced and recorded, utilizing a digital voice recorder and produced using shareware mixing software and was described as “a patchwork of sound snippets, of history in a present tense. A composer’s commitment to the preservation of stories, however small and unassuming. “Sunlight is musically emotional with raw beauty and mixed messages to express – all in which we agree with. And anyone intelligent enough to sneak into a Jamie Lidell song has taste that speaks in volumes.
