22-year-old Essex singer-songwriter, Ed Drewett, first came to our attention when his tones graced Professor Green’s hit I Need You Tonight and by co-writing All Time Low, for new lad-band sensation The Wanted. His debut single Champagne Lemonade is full of charismatic lyrical twists and produced by Tim Powell. It’s the first track to be taken from Drewett’s debut album due for release in March 2011. The musician has called upon an enviable collection of expertise for the album with producer/writer collaborators including Greg Kurstin, Cutfather and Fraser T. Smith. An impressive remix via NTEIBINT who thankfully found a 19 second wav file (called Derezzed) from the upcoming Tron Soundtrack being scored by Daft Punk, and after listening to it countless times, NTEIBINT used it to remix a version. Done in an old fashioned way, something like Larry Levan could do if he was alive and had a Macbook. Tron‘s tagline applies: The Game Has Changed.

Check out this cover of Gnarls Barkley‘s 2006 smash hit Crazy. A track that’s been stuck in each of our heads at one point or another. A soundtrack for numerous commercials. And highly covered by endless artists, yet this version captures such softness, temper, misery and attachment in a way only Ray LaMontagne can pull off. Taking things real and fast.

For his latest single, Canadian crooner Michael Bublé shows he can handle the costume changes of Hollywood. Easily portraying the ridiculousness of it all, poking fun at celebrity culture and what can go along with that. But can someone please remix this? A little less country, more 808 with a fuzzy bassline, guitars more spacey, lift the volume to the other instruments and backing vocals, create a few breaks – let the song breathe a little. Or send me the stems and vox tracks and I’ll do it. I still think Bublé is beyond unrated. Voices like his are a handful in a lifetime. The track appears on Buble’s upcoming special edition of his album Crazy Love, to see daylight October 15th. Watch the newly released video below, after the jump…
