Challenging week to say in the least. Was finally able to exhale on Friday. Had one of the best think tank sessions with Paul, Meaghen and Sean I’ve had in a long time. Followed that meeting having dinner with Paul at Casa Del Mar in Santa Monica. Nice corner table with three chairs. Perfect since I sent Chris a text to join us afterward on his way back into town from an art show on Melrose Place in West Hollywood. Paul and Chris met for the first time. It was nice having my two favorite guys finally together at the same table. Naturally, we shut that place down.
Saturday started by slowly and reluctantly prying myself from the Tempur-Pedic mattress. Who knew shortly after Chris and I’d be embarking on a 17 mile (roundtrip) bike ride from Venice to Manhattan and back. The weather was perfect – sunny but gentle. And it seemed like every single person along our path was smiling and enjoying the day. Chris’s Hipstamatic iPhone App caught some shots, not that I’d ever forget any of it. I kept saying I Love Today like a broken record. But hear me out.. when I say DO NOT HAVE A COCKTAIL HALFWAY THROUGH a bike ride like that, I mean it. And especially not two. After a serious concentration to catch a second wind, we met up with a few friends and capped the night off with drinks at L’Ermitage Hotel in Beverly Hills, then over to the Four Seasons. Glad we rallied and got to spend more time with Chris’s best friend Brad too. Their dynamic together is something in and of itself. I was a lucky witness.
Sunday started just like Saturday but followed a journey back to Venice. My cat Lux was like “WTF? Where the hell have you been?” She has since been spoiled with a handful of treats and is curled up like a cinnamon roll at my feet as I type. Other then that: I made a few calls, sent bday wishes to one of my favorite people, Tim, while he’s working it up in South Carolina, continue to plug away at KKS posts for Monday in between working on a business plan for a music project in the works. Two last things. Okay three. 1. KickKickSnare hit #1 on The Hype Machine’s Top 100 Popular List today! 2. I’m meeting my future mother in law tonight for the first time for dinner. 3. Happy as a bird with a french fry.
