Boy, have I been avoiding this post. Coachella 2010 presented it’s fair amount of challenges and it’s taken a couple days to sort out my opinions. Most that I’ll be keeping to myself as this blog focuses on the good of mankind. A friend asked me for three things I liked about the festival, so here we go. I will not go into the 3 miles that took 4 hours to enter the parking lot (that made me fucking miss Sleigh Bells). Or the fact that watching the music you loved meant being: stepped on, punched in the face, pulled by the hair, screamed at, felt up, subjected to smoke blown in your face, inside dirt tornadoes… trust me when I say I can go on. But this post is about three things I liked.
It wasn’t the desert heat. Nor having to use those portable bathroom things. Wait, I’m off track again…
1. GOSSIP was by far the highlight as far as performances. Beth Ditto sang her fucking heart out and I did not expect to crown them the winner. They really blew me away.
2. Mayer Hawthorne came in 2nd place tied with the Heineken Beer tent.
3. Finding my car.
And there you have it. Staying calm and carrying the hell on.
